JOB TITLE: Youth Development Program Director         DEPARMENT:  Youth Development



  • Develop a schedule of age appropriate year-round activities for youth, which will incorporate times during the school year (after school hours), holidays and summer vacation.
  • Develop and coordinate activities for youth to meet their needs based on goals of program.
  • Supervise and direct program staff and volunteers in accordance with personnel policies and procedures.
  • Provide a secure, safe and welcoming environment for youth participants during activities and events.
  • Develop staff work schedules according to activities and transportation needs of the program.
  • Follow standards set for ensuring all staff and volunteers connected to the program are processed through the background check to remain in compliance with all regulations associated with working with minors.
  • Incorporate community input in developing programs and events for youth.
  • Prepare annual program budget in accordance with governing policies and procedures.
  • Work in cooperation with other local, state and nationwide programs and agencies in providing services to youth.
  • Work with Family Services and the Court system to coordinate services for youth as needed.
  • Ensure that program staff receive and maintain all necessary training and certification required to work with youth.
  • Develop rules and guidelines for staff and participants.
  • Provide periodic reports to Executive Director regarding program progress toward meeting goals.
  • Promote positive behaviors by being a role model in the community.
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field and two years of experience in a program providing direct services to youth or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess valid driver license, preferable a Chauffeur's license.
  • Must submit to and successfully complete background investigation, and maintain suitability for the position.
  • Must maintain and support an alcohol and drug-free lifestyle.
  • Experience working with the Sac and Fox Tribe or other Native American communities considered highly beneficial.
  • Will require travel and supervision of youth on occasion off the settlement.
  • Prefer community member.
