Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and supervise age appropriate activities for students, with regard to the individual differences and needs of the students.
  • Maintain, in cooperation with the Coordinator, all necessary documentation.
  • Ensure a positive and secure school climate to enhance overall learning and student achievement.
  • Show respect for the culture in lessons and during MAP.
  • Work as a team with other MAP staff.
  • Will be directly responsible and be under the direct supervision of the MAP Coordinator and Administration.
  • Adhere to the Employee Handbook.
  • All other duties as assigned.


  • Prefer BA/BS or AA degree or higher, or Para Educator Certification from the State of Iowa, or experience in Cultural area of instruction.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Must be able to lead, nurture, and instruct children.
  • Must be able to work well with others.
  • Prefer experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Must commit to work the agreed upon days.
  • Must pass a federal background check.


Supervision: Under supervision of the Meskwaki After-school Program Coordinator

Salary: minimum starting pay $16.00/ hour
