Position Title: Education Tech Specialist                 Department:   Information Technology

Classification: Non-Exempt                                      Supervision:   IT Director


Position Description: Responsible with maintaining, managing, troubleshooting, and repair of school wide systems within the Meskwaki Settlement Schools through active collaboration with Tribal wide stakeholders. School Wide Systems include Content Management, Telecommunication, Physical Access and Safety, Virtual Machinery, Active Directory, Weather, Clocks and Time Clocks, and any system within the schools enterprise network

Duties & Responsibilities:  This position will support:

  • All Hardware devices such as Desktops, Laptops, tablets, e-readers, iPads, printers, label makers, scanners, projectors, mimeos, and any peripheral which may require hardware firmware or drivers or computer connectivity
  • All software packages related to operating, backup, productivity, testing, and teaching across the Settlement Schools (i.e. Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer, Google, Android, OSX, iOS, Infinite Campus, Adobe suite, etc.)
  • All licensing meets compliance per purchase agreements with Vendors
  • All users with appropriate credentials for Active Directory and Exchange
  • By troubleshooting user and school wide system issues through identifying the source, determining possible solutions, testing solution, implementing the solution, and documenting the resolution for other team members
  • By maintaining accurate records of service and resolution through the specified help desk system and maintaining accurate inventory records of all equipment
  • By responding to system outages and contacting appropriate tech support
  • By responding to environmental changes and needs and contact appropriate support
  • By responding to tech requests in a timely and expeditiously manner
  • Administration of security awareness training and documentation as required
  • By maintaining documentation of physical and logical systems (network maps, emergency exit room maps, etc.)
  • By working with stakeholders and local staff to address specific technical needs, coordinate training and assist with issues as they arise
  • By assisting with training development and presenting end user training as specified
  • By maintaining a good solid working relationship with members of the department and the schools.
  • Work with team to plan, organize, coordinate, and implement IT initiatives
  • Supports the Information Technology Department's strategic plans and attends meetings as required
  • Manage assigned projects and ensure projects are completed on time, and provides full documentation
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Associates Degree or other technology related certificate in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Two years of work experience in Microsoft Products, Apple or Mac products, and/or management of Mobile Devices
  • Two years of work experience with enterprise software packages and peripherals (projections systems, A/V type equipment, and computer I/O)
  • Excellent customer service skills and objective communication required
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills required
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs. in weight
  • Ability to work beyond regularly scheduled hours (4:30 pm or later) as needed
