JOB TITLE: Media Office Assistant                                            DEPARTMENT: Information Technology

 TIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain the Tribe's online community calendar on its website at www.meskwaki.org updating for events, classes, programs, etc. - submitting changes daily and/or as they occur.
  • Point of contact for monthly Meskwaki Nation Times content receiving articles, pictures and other information via email and/or in person from Tribal Operations staff and community members to disburse per the designated timetable to Media Services Coordinator and staff.
  • Maintain and update the Meskwaki Nation Times newsletter mailing list.
  • Assist the department in the preparation and mailing of the newsletter and other materials.
  • Create labels, documents and mailing files for bulk mailing to Tribal members.
  • Upload and maintain the community's Digital Signage content.
  • Upload and maintain the department's Sharepoint site and content (forms and submissions).
  • Maintain past Meskwaki Nation Times catalog/library of published articles.
  • Maintain the website's member only on-line registration access creating and maintaining user accounts, passwords and access.
  • Develop and maintain filing systems for departmental records, correspondence and other material.
  • Complete forms in accordance with company procedure.
  • Compose, type, and distribute meeting notes, routine correspondence and reports.
  • Help as necessary with Livestream events (webcast); assisting in the set-up of equipment, production/recording and archiving of events.
  • Maintain a working inventory of all Media equipment.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for Media Services team members.
  • Handle requisition processing, receive and track supplies & equipment.
  • Assist in meeting program objectives by supporting the Information Technology team's strategic plan and attending all required meetings.
  • Proofread and review work for correct spelling and grammar, ensure company format policies are followed and recommend revisions.
  • Operate and maintain office equipment such as computers, copiers and phone system.
  • Assist Media Services Coordinator with administration as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • Require High School diploma/G.E.D.
  • Candidates are required to possess Digital Literacy skillsets:
    • Experience with Adobe design platforms (i.e. InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) preferred.
    • Proficient with the Microsoft Windows operating system.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, Word).
    • Basic understanding of WordPress required.
    • Experience with social and online media (i.e. Facebook, YouTube, Livestream, Smugmug).
    • Able to manipulate multiple digital file types. (i.e. Able to turn .PDF into .JPG, etc.)
    • Must be able to type 40 w.p.m.
  • Experience using a DSLR camera preferred.
  • Soft skillsets include:
    • Must be a self-starter and extremely detail oriented.
    • Eager to learn, take initiative, be flexible, be a team player, able to prioritize and have a positive attitude.
    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment where speed and accuracy are required.
    • Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
    • Strong customer service skills
  • Required to take an assessment prior to interview
  • May be subject to a background check.
